Our Teaching Philosophy

A great teacher leads by example. The values that we instill in our students are the same warrior virtues that we strive to live by ourselves. Being a teacher is like tending a flame. You got to have the right piece of wood for the moment. You don't want to start with the logs. You start with the smallest sticks. After laying a nice bed of twigs and kindling, you slowly add the bigger branches. You have to be patient. You don't want to smother the flame before you can develop some nice coals.

At Rising Phoenix Martial Arts, we are all about building that fire and tending that flame. We first want to help you find your passion, and then we want to lift you up with rigor! We have seen some amazing accomplishments, both in physical fitness and character development. Sometimes the person that walks away hardly resembles the person that came before--just as the phoenix rises from the ashes of its former self!

Aides are primarily responsible for assisting with classes. Shadows are new members of the Leadership Team that are just learning the ropes. Of course, higher level Leadership Team members can do lower level responsibilities, so please look to Isaac and Sam to get check off on your curriculum!
